Jason Franklin named as new CEO of Powerco
Jason’s experience and dedication to the growth of the sector will be invaluable to Powerco which is the second largest distributor of electricity and gas in Aotearoa. He'll begin in the role from 28 April 2025

Congratulations to Jason Franklin who has been appointed as the new CEO of Powerco.
Jason is currently the CEO of PowerNet, the distribution networks delivering power to Invercargill, Southland, West Otago, parts of Central Otago and Stewart Island. Jason has led PowerNet since 2012.
Previously, Jason has worked for Rio Tinto (both internationally and at the Tiwai Point aluminium smelter) and the Electricity Corporation of New Zealand. He has been on the executive committee of the Major Electricity Users Group and the Wholesale Advisory Group for the Electricity Authority. Jason is also a current board member for us at Electricity Networks Aotearoa.

Jason will begin in the role from 28 April 2025. He will replace former Powerco CE, James Kilty, who will become CEO of Transpower next month.
